What's your version of Sendmail?
Running BQ-testing:
[root@cbq home]# rpm -qa|grep sendmail
sendmail-8.13.1-3.RHEL4.5
sendmail-doc-8.13.1-3.RHEL4.5
sendmail-cf-8.13.1-3.RHEL4.5
Running BQ-current:
[root@sword home]# rpm -qa|grep sendma
sendmail-cf-8.13.1-3.RHEL4.3.BQ
sendmail-8.13.1-3.RHEL4.3.BQ
sendmail-doc-8.13.1-3.RHEL4.3.BQ
Once you update out of BQ-testing, you'll get the dovecot installed and BQ
reverts back to the stock CentOS Sendmail. This also includes a reinstall
of /etc/mail/sendmail.cf to allow for SMTP-AUTH, TLS, SSL, etc. This will
then also drop the custom error message for POP-before-SMTP.
I think that's not that critical, as people should really start to use
SMTP-AUTH anyway once its available.
